Phase II in Action

Elderly woman sitting on a sidewalk, smiling slightly. She holds a cardboard sign reading "No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." She's wearing a denim jacket with a window and street reflection behind her.

This is our fictional character, Sarah. We are using her for this example.

Sarah’s Dilemma

Sarah is a single mother who has faced years of instability after fleeing an abusive relationship. The trauma has left her battling anxiety and PTSD, making it difficult to maintain a job or focus on her son’s well-being. Overwhelmed and feeling hopeless, Sarah often wonders if things will ever get better.

With no steady income or support system, Sarah struggles to find consistent housing, food, and care for herself and her child. She knows she needs help but feels ashamed to ask for it. When she hears about Innovoreach’s Connect Event, she decides to take a chance, hoping for even a small glimmer of hope.

At the Connect Event, Sarah learns about the Phase II program. After sharing her story with a volunteer, she’s encouraged to attend a C.I.R.C.L.E. group therapy session. During the session, she experiences a sense of community for the first time in years, surrounded by others who truly understand her struggles.

Sarah also begins one-on-one counseling, where she receives tools to manage her PTSD and regain her confidence. Through Innovoreach’s wellness workshops, she learns stress-reducing techniques, mindfulness practices, and healthy coping strategies to handle day-to-day challenges.

The combination of therapy, community, and practical resources helps Sarah start to see a path forward. For the first time in years, she feels hopeful—and ready to take the next step.
